It would be nearly impossible -- in the space of one album -- to compile a selection of show tunes that covered everyone's most beloved songs: inevitably, some favorites would be omitted. However, 20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection: Best of Musicals doesn't do a bad job of collecting some of the more well-known numbers, including (all from original cast recordings) "The Music of the Night" from +Phantom of the Opera, "Seventy-Six Trombones" from +The Music Man, "All That Jazz" from +Chicago (1998 London cast), and "Bring Him Home" from +Les Miserables. Of course, there are notable exclusions (something from +Hello Dolly! or +Hair, for example), and why there are two songs from +Man of La Mancha is a little confusing, but Best of Musicals is still a good, fun collection that will satiate fans of musical theater of all ages. ~ Marisa Brown, All Music Guide
