Released shortly before their excellent sophomore effort Imprint, the four-track Resurrecting Reality appeals to both the newcomer and hardcore fan of Vision of Disorder. Included is a different version of the track "Clone," recorded before the official version that would later turn up on Imprint. But the undeniable highlight here is a must-hear cover of the Bad Brains' classic "Soul Craft"; V.O.D. impressively nailed the manic energy of the original dead-on. You'll also find 'demo versions' of two tracks that were highlights of their 1996 self-titled debut: "Element" and "Ways to Destroy One's Ambition." The single is only available on vinyl, but is definitely worth the hunt. ~ Greg Prato, All Music Guide
