This 23-song collection is slightly misleading in one important respect -- it does contain (and, indeed, opens with) "Streets of London," but the latter is the original all-acoustic version from the 1969 album Spiral Staircase, rather than the later re-recording, which was the actual hit single version. That said, this is still a worthwhile collection for those who don't want to track down CD reissues of McTell's first three albums on the Transatlantic label. The sound is good and the annotation is reasonably thorough, and for those who enjoy McTell's early music it's a good cross-section of the work, though also hardly alone, as this catalog's highlights have been reissued numerous times on CD. ~ Bruce Eder, All Music Guide
