Needle Mythology is a four-song import EP in an interesting gatefold package with three non-album recordings. The title track is taken from the 1995 album Duffy, the jangle and power pop leanings of which set that song apart from the other offerings here. "Twenty Three" is a light, folksy ballad strongly reminiscent of Duffy's band Lilac Time, while "The World Records Her Every Thought" is a plodding, overly long effort with piano chords hammered out in quarter notes for nearly the entire five-minute duration. "Sugar High (Slow Version)" differs from the album version in tempo, but is also grungier and rocks harder, making it a little more interesting to the completists for whom this EP was devised. ~ Greg Adams, All Music Guide
