This 19-song set of 1970s and early-'80s roots reggae isn't exactly mind-blowing, but it does feature relatively rare tracks by several unsung Jamaican artists mixed in with more familiar fare. Thus listeners get the familiar, but still fun, excellence of Gregory Isaacs' "Border" and Freddie McKay's "Some a Them Run Away" along with rare gems like the Maytones' "Never Gonna Run Away" (almost an answer song to McKay's) and "Money Trouble," which also features a strong and reconfiguring toast from I-Roy. Again, this isn't an essential purchase, but it probably won't disappoint, either. ~ Steve Leggett, All Music Guide
