    All Music Guide Review

Along with the "Love Sick, Pt. 1" CD single released in early 1998, Sony-Columbia released Love Sick Pt. 2, featuring the album version of "Love Sick" as well as three additional "field recordings." Like the first installment, the tracks are collected from Dylan concert performances, only months old, and includes a song from the recently released Time Out of Mind ("Can't Wait"), a traditional song performed acoustically ("Roving Gambler"), and a less than popular gem from Dylan's mine ("Blind Willie McTell"). The recordings are all very good and further illustrate Dylan's surge as a performer in the 1990s. His tremendously wild voice and improvised guitar slurs are present along with his powerful backing band featuring recently added members such as multi-instrumentalist Larry Campbell and former Jerry Garcia Band drummer David Kemper. This is another rare official document from the troubadour's Never Ending Tour that serves as more of a novelty item than anything else for serious Dylan collectors, as these performances and much more are widely available on circulating bootlegs. ~ Jeff Schwachter, All Music Guide
