It's a bit strange for an artist who's only released a few albums to come out with a best-of compilation, but this didn't stop anyone from compiling The Best of Lou Bega. The ten songs on the record are culled from 1999's A Little Bit of Mambo and 2001's Ladies & Gentlemen, and while there's nothing extraordinary on either of them, The Best of Lou Bega chooses the best tracks from each and leaves out a lot of the filler, actually making it better than either of the actual albums. It's all fairly vapid mambo-flavored pop, but it's fun nonetheless, which is all it's trying to be, anyway. ~ Marisa Brown, All Music Guide
