    Sunbeam's Rain in the Leaves: The EPs, Vol. 1 collects 19 of Welshman Meic Stevens psych-folk singer's earliest tracks, most of which are culled from a series of EPs (Mike Stevens, Rhif 2, Mwg and Meic Stevens) recorded between 1967 and 1970. The majority of these songs are sparse, thinly recorded affairs that echo early Bob Dylan and Donovan. They are also sung primarily in Stevens' native Welsh, giving them an otherworldly vibe that contrasts with the contemporary three- or four-chord folk arrangements that defined the genre at the time.
