Greasy Kid Stuff

In one of the most clever and inspired moves in children's music, the Greasy Kid Stuff radio show decided to offer a collection of kid-friendly indie rock that had been featured on their program. The idea behind it was to introduce children to good music that doesn't talk down to them or promote toys, as well as give parents a safe collection of music that won't drive them insane with its simplicity. Excellent tracks from the S.F. Seals, Yo la Tengo, James Kochalka Superstar, Tony Burrello, and others reveal an innocent and amiable side to the artists that doesn't sacrifice their songwriting talents or experimental tendencies. Instead, the album is a joyous celebration of fun and silly topics that can offer children an alternative to the mind-numbing Disney pop that is often forced on them.
