All Music Guide Review
Spanning the 1950s to the 1990s, the Space Bunnies Must Die soundtrack uses a variety of rock, soul, blues and country to promote Ripcord's CD-ROM game (which came out in late 1998). One thing you won't find on this collection is a lot of angry, depressing angst-rock; if anything ties the CD's 12 songs together, it's a healthy sense of fun. That's exactly what you'll find on Bo Diddley's "Who Do You Love?" and Buddy Holly's "Rave On" as well as Ike & Tina Turner's "Bold Soul Sister," Steppenwolf's "Born to Be Wild" and Loretta Lynn's country version of the Nancy Sinatra hit "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'." Released in 1997, alternative rock band Space's goofy, tongue-in-cheek "Mr. Psycho" came almost 40 years after the Diddley and Holly songs. But all of the material ends up working well together, and the end result is a very diverse and consistently enjoyable party album. Recommended. ~ Alex Henderson, All Music Guide
