    Dead Delites, Vol. 1 assembles nine renditions of songs either written by or long associated with the Grateful Dead, in most instances performed either by Dead associates or the band's Haight-Ashbury-era contemporaries. Highlights include Tom Constanten's "Good Morning Little Schoolgirl," Hot Tuna's "I Know You Rider," and New Riders of the Purple Sage's "Ripple," although most casual listeners should seek out the original Dead recordings over these relatively pale substitutes. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
