All Music Guide Review
Absolute Dance: Now & Then is a generous collection of 23 disco and dance songs, spanning from the late '70s to the late '90s. That means, of course, that these songs basically just share a beat -- which is especially true since it's all mixed together to simulate that club-going experience. That tactic can be enjoyable for a party, but it doesn't hold up under close listening. Nevertheless, there's enough highlights -- "I'm Your Boogie Man," "Disco Inferno," "Show Me Love," "We Are Family," "Here Comes the Hotstepper," "Blue Monday 1988" and "More, More, More" -- to make it a good party record. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
