Watch the Skies is a collection of excerpts from the scores of science fiction and/or extraterrestrial-oriented films both old and new. These versions are re-recordings, not parts of the original soundtracks, but what could have been a cheap ripoff turns out to be pretty well put together. John Beal's synthesized re-creations of the main-title themes "Men in Black" and "Predator" are particular standouts, but the whole album will appeal to sci-fi and soundtrack fans, with additional performances by Alan Howarth, the City of Prague Philharmonic, Richard Band, and Christopher Franke, among others. ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide
