Ah, the music business...Francine Reed recorded two albums for Atlanta-based Ichiban Records in the early to mid-'90s, then re-recorded several of the tracks for 2001's I Got a Right!...To Some of My Best when the label went under. But Ichiban resurfaced, and 2002's American Roots: Blues was simply a selection of tracks from Reed's first two albums for the imprint. Now listeners get this two-disc set, which once again recycles material from the two Ichiban albums, and while the music is fine, and includes duets with both Lyle Lovett and Delbert McClinton, enough is enough again. ~ Steve Leggett, All Music Guide
