Wailers continues to refine Buddy DeFranco's signature fusion of swing and bop -- boasting support from trumpeter Harry "Sweets" Edison, guitarist Barney Kessel and pianist Jimmy Rowels -- it's arguably the most lissome and soulful of the clarinetist's Verve LPs.
