    Not that a band covering each other's songs on a split single is the most original idea out there, but what makes this record stick out in comparison to other EPs is that this is the American debut of Oxford, England's Marine Research. A pretty good effort from both parties, Marine Research covers the Built to Spill classic "Sick and Wrong" with their own unique brand of gleeful twee pop, while on the flip side, Built to Spill does a rendition of Heavenly's "By the Way" -- and why not, since four out of five Marine Research members were in Heavenly? Again, not the most original idea, but it's still a lot of fun to boogie to. ~ Mike DaRonco, All Music Guide
