    Recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra, Epiphany finds Vince Mendoza pursuing a typically subtle and engaging blend of classical and post-bop. Mendoza's composing style has always suggested that he would work well with an orchestra, and Epiphany confirms those suspicions, since it's never overblown -- it's always evocative and quietly compelling, adding new elements to his music while staying true to its core elements.
