All Music Guide Review
The Brunswick label's three-disc genre-bending 70s Collection features 36 cuts that are sure to please even the most eclectic fan of the decade. There are more than enough familiar hits here to satisfy the radio populist -- "Brick House" (Commodores), "Papa Was a Rolling Stone" (Temptations), "Sweet Home Alabama" (Lynyrd Skynyrd), "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" (Bachman-Turner Overdrive) -- but there are also many left-field picks and some from "not so left-field" acts like Thin Lizzy, who get to play "Whiskey in the Jar" for once instead of "Boys Are Back in Town," and Rush, who trade in "The Spirit of Radio" for a chance to crank out their debut hit, "Working Man." Weird, but fun. ~ James Christopher Monger, All Music Guide
