    All Music Guide Review

    Vol. 13 in the Dave Matthews Band Live Trax series was recorded at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, MO, in June of 2008. The band was joined by guests Tim Reynolds on guitar and Rashawn Ross on trumpet, and performed material ranging from old standards like "Ants Marching" and "Tripping Billies" to new cuts such as "Cornbread," "Louisiana Bayou," and "#27." As has been the norm, there are a couple of choice covers included: Neil Young's "Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)" and the now ubiquitous reading of Sly Stone's classic "Thank You (Falettin Me Be Mice Elf Agin)." Matthews writes good songs, but the jams get very predictable, very quickly. The bottom line is, if you are a DMB fanatic, you'll need this; if not, there is little here to convince you that you need to be. ~ Thom Jurek, All Music Guide

    Dave Matthews Band’s latest volume in the Live Trax series is a 2-CD release chosen from the outset of the 2008 summer tour. Dave Matthews Band made history on June 7, 2008 when they became the first artist to perform a concert at the new Busch Stadium in St. Louis, MO, performing center field in front of close to 35,000 fans.

    Highlights of the show include “Pay For What You Get” and the rarity “Recently > Water into Wine” jam which had not been played live in over ten years. Other songs of note include a superb performance of “Crush” and covers of Neil Young’s “Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)” and Sly and the Family Stone ’s “Thank You (Falletin Me Be Mice Elf Agin)”.
