  • Guilt Notes

From his beginnings as a self-taught DJ on turntables his mother gave him at a young age to his work as a producer, engineer, and MC, MIMS has been giving rap a unique and powerful spin. His debut album title, Music Is My Savior — derived as an acronym from his last name — speaks volumes of his passion and dedication to creating inspiring, impactful music from deep in his soul. MIMS makes records, not just songs. The artist from NYC’s Washington Heights pushed boundaries by embracing rap styles from regions outside of New York, and this stems from his desire to create music that reaches people of all backgrounds on a national and global level. His smash single “This Is Why I’m Hot” has been featured in a national campaign for Microsoft ZUNE, the 2007 NBA draft, and placement on the 2007 Warped Tour sampler. The same passion and perseverance that brought him success with Music Is My Sav ior continues with his sophomore recording, Guilt . The set features production from The Blackout Movement (who helped create the chart-topping hit “This Is Why I’m Hot”), Da Internz, and Jim Jonsin (T.I. & Lil’ Wayne), and features reggae musician Kymani Marley. The first single, “Move (If You Wanna),” received immediate support from top-tier DJs upon preview. Gui l t will be a testament to MIMS’ hustle and hard work, and his ability to connect with fans from every corner of the rap world.
