All Music Guide Review

Described as "The Weird Al Yankovic of Rap," Bobby Jimmy is a cult figure specializing in parodies of rap and R&B hits. Jimmy (who was actually urban contemporary radio disc jockey Russ Parr) recorded for various small L.A. labels before signing with Priority in the late 1980s and recording the goofy Hip-Hop Prankster, his first album for the company. Prankster's first single was the insanely funny "Hair or Weave," a parody of Today's "Him or Me" making fun of women with hair weaves. N.W.A's "Gangsta Gangsta" becomes the clever "Prankster Prankster," while MC Hammer's "Let's Get It Started" is transformed into the silly "Somebody Farted." Highly entertaining, this CD was Jimmy's finest hour. ~ Alex Henderson, All Music Guide
