Though it lacks thickness and is more pop than soul, it's easy to like Miquel Brown's voice; her phrasing and articulation make this CD happen. Brown's voice masks the weak material, particularly monstrosities like "Close to Perfection," where the lyricist goes to great pains to use words with the shun sound to rhyme with perfection. "Footprints in the Sand" and "Sunny Day" speak of new love and its wonders, and are quite pleasant. "Black Leather" has a tougher sound and a more emphatic vocal from Brown. The 14 tracks include her biggest sellers: "Manpower" and "So Many Men, So Little Time." ~ Andrew Hamilton, All Music Guide
