Taken from radio transcriptions, this CD features singer June Christy in 1957 in brief (generally under three minute) performances. She is assisted by either the Jerry Gray Orchestra, drummer Shelly Manne's Trio (with pianist Russ Freeman and bassist Monty Budwig) and on "Rock Me to Sleep" the Manne Quintet (which has altoist Herb Geller and trumpeter Stu Williamson added). June Christy's voice is in fine form (she was in her prime throughout the 1950s) and highlights include "From This Moment On," "How High the Moon," "Midnight Sun" and "That's All." But due to the lack of stretching out, this set is primarily of interest to June Christy completists. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
