    Curtis has been performing since the '50s and writing nearly as long. This album reprises two of the songs he wrote that were hits for someone else. Additionally, the title song was the theme for the Mary Tyler Moore Show which Curtis wrote (he also sang it the first season). But the real gem on this record is Curtis' rebuttal in song to the film The Buddy Holly Story. Curtis knew, and played with Buddy, long before his rise to stardom, and as he says in the song, this is his attempt to set straight some things that weren't right in the film. ~ Jim Worbois, All Music Guide
