All Music Guide Review

Actors who moonlight as singers have had a hard time being accepted in the music world, especially when they're as successful as Michael Damian. An institution on daytime TV, Damian joined the cast of The Young and the Restless in 1981 and was still playing rock star Danny Romalotti on the top-rated soap opera in the mid-'90s. Damian is a decent pop and pop/rock singer, and while his albums haven't been magnificent, they can be enjoyable. That's definitely true of the slick Dreams of Summer. A few of the songs aren't very memorable, but Damian is at his most likable on such moody, atmospheric pop as "Will the Sun Ever Shine," "Love Is the Thunder (You Turn Me On)," and the haunting title song. Whether or not one is a soap fan, this is a CD that does have its moments. ~ Alex Henderson, All Music Guide
