Dr. Demento Presents: Greatest Novelty Records of All Time, Vol. 4: 1970's presents the decade's funniest singles, some of which -- Barnes & Barnes' "Fish Heads," The Rocky Horror Picture Show's "Time Warp," and Randy Newman's "Short People" -- are still classics. Songs like Rose & the Arrangemen's "The Cockroach That Ate Cincinnati" and Fred Blassie's "Pencil Neck Geek" may not be as well-known as some of the album's other tracks, but they remain amusing. Other highlights include Cheech & Chong's "Earache My Eye," Steve Martin's "King Tut," and Weird Al Yankovic's "My Bologna"; the album closes with the dead animal-fixated trio of Hank, Stu, Dave & Hank's "My Dead Dog Rover," Loudon Wainwright's "Dead Skunk," and Ogden Edsl's "Dead Puppies." Though it's not quite as consistent a collection as the previous volumes, this will please anyone who likes their nostalgia served with a comedic twist. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
