Before beginning their rock & roll career with Cadence Records in 1957, The Everlys recorded one straight country single for Columbia in late 1955. Backed by the guitars, steel, bass, and fiddle of Carl Smith's Tunesmiths, this standard mid-'50s Nashville country offered little hints of the duo's further greatness, other than their shining harmonies. This four-song, 12-inch EP includes both sides of the single and two previously unreleased cuts from the same sessions. All four of the tunes were written by The Everlys themselves and are of mostly historical interest. ~ Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide
