Darol Anger and Mike Marshall reunite with 1999's Jam, another fine example of their skillful fusion of folk, jazz and classical idioms. Primarily acoustic, with flourishes of electric bass here and there, Jam features Anger's violin and fiddle virtuosity, as well as his composing and producing skills. Marshall provides intelligent, inspired accompaniment on a number of string instruments, and the duo are joined by Anger/$Marshal Band newcomers Derek Jones, an electric and acoustic bass virtuoso, and drummer Aaron Johnston, who add to Jam's festive fusion of styles and sounds. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
