All Music Guide Review
Jukebox Hits of 1966, Vol. 1 rounds up 27 classic songs from a pleasingly wide variety of styles including soul, AM pop, British Invasion, folk-rock, and bubblegum. It sounds like a great radio station, mixing styles, moods, and sounds without missing a beat and unafraid to play songs like Manfred Mann's "Pretty Flamingo" that weren't obvious choices. Any disc that finds room for the Left Banke's "Walk Away Renee," Bob Lind's "Elusive Butterfly," los Bravos' "Black Is Black," and Dusty Springfield's "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me" has its heart and mind in the right place and will satisfy the needs both of boomers looking for a nostalgic trip and newcomers to the era looking for an entry point into some very fine music. ~ Tim Sendra, All Music Guide
