Fans of electronica in general and drum'n'bass in particular will get a huge kick out of this strange little mid-priced gem of an album, assuming that they can find it (it purports to be a "very limited edition"). It consists of tracks taken from various releases on the Recordings of Substance label, mixed live by Justice at a Brixton club called The Junction in December 1998, and released here as an uninterrupted dance mix. The tracks vary in mood from James Hardway's jazzy "Illustrated Man" to Magnetic's chilly, computer-based "Bull Roaring" and the darker "Moon Palace" by Icarus. No track on this compilation is less than very good, and it would make an excellent introduction to the state of the art of British drum'n'bass for anyone who's curious. Those who are already hip to the genre will enjoy it just as much. ~ Rick Anderson, All Music Guide
