In 1998, Sony Music Entertainment Philippines released Stone, a compilation featuring Filipino and international artists signed to Sony. A landmark achievement, Stone is a musical accompaniment to a comic book also called -Stone, made predominantly by Filipino talent. The comic book was released in the US in mid-1998, but plans for an international album release did not materialize.

The three Filipino artists involved are hard rock bands Wolfgang and Razorback, and female rap artist Chill (born Audra Bio). The international artists are hard rock/alternative bands Korn and Incubus of the United States; Primal Scream and Bedlam Ago Go of the United Kingdom; Canada's Our Lady Peace; and from Japan, Boom Boom Satellites and DJ Krush.

All songs by the international artists were released on earlier projects. Of the four songs by Filipino artists, Wolfgang contributes two: "Sanctified," from the band's 1997 album, Wurm, and "Hell Looks," first heard on Wolfgang's 1996 album, Semenelin, and reworked here in an intriguing acoustic version. Razorback's "Voodoo Who Do," comes from the band's 1998 album, Star (where it is listed as "Voodoo, Who Do?"). Chill, backed by Razorback. performs the album's only previously unreleased song, the title track, "Stone." Much of the music is hard rock in nature, though there is a strong techno feel throughout, as heard on Korn's, "No Place to Hide," and Bedlam A Go Go's drum'n'bass-flavored "Paranoid." Stone is an outstanding effort, thoughtfully assembled, and seems a natural for international release. Perhaps a future compilation will feature all-original music.

The album, as well as the comic book, received much local media attention, and sold respectably, but nothing special, based on label information (there are no album charts in the Philippines).
