    Rockin' 60's, Vol. 1, gathers up 12 songs from the ranks of the one-hit wonders, snarling garage bands, and visionaries of the '60s rock scene. Fully nine of the 12 songs are undisputed classics, and the other three are very good. Included are gems from Bobby Fuller ("I Fought the Law"), the Music Machine ("Talk Talk"), the Count Five ("Psychotic Reaction"), Bubble Puppy ("Hot Smoke and Sassafrass"), the Rivieras ("California Sun"), and Cannibal & the Headhunters ("Land of 1,000 Dances"). Sure they are obvious gems, not of use to a collector or seasoned fan, but the neophyte and casual fan could do a lot worse than picking this up as an intro to the wild sounds of the underground '60s. ~ Tim Sendra, All Music Guide
