Spanky & Our Gang

Unique and mystic, these melodies are drama-like and filled with fun and comedy. Hilarious at times during their songs of spoken word, Spanky & Our Gang can also show the listener a good time through their many harmonies and uplifting jam sessions. Their commercial hit, "Sunday Will Never Be the Same" is full of nostalgia and '60s pride. Innocent within their approach the songwriters of Spanky & Our Gang do well to create dreamlike portraits and soothing, natural-like music. Some of the material is fast, percussive and western-like, and much of the record is vintage. Circus-like in their approach, most listeners will only recognize "Sunday Will Never Be the Same," but there is much more quality work to uncover and enjoy for those pulling out the record for the first time.
