All Music Guide Review

One would not be able to tell that these guys are from England. What, with their snotty Joe Queer-esque vocals, Skimmer have no problem marketing themselves to an American audience by singing in that East Coast accent. Maybe it's unintentional; maybe their accents disappeared somewhere during the recording process of "Happy." In all seriousness though, Skimmer come across as a bunch of mature adults who still like to re-live their days of being a three-chord pop-punk band; it's almost as if as if they're trying to break out of their mature shell. But no way is "Happy" strictly targeted to anyone over 30, it's just that Skimmer are one of the very few acts in this genre who know how to play their instruments well. ~ Mike DaRonco, Rovi
