Looking for Love is the soundtrack to Connie Francis' 1964 film of the same name, the third of four feature films in which she starred. As such, the title song is presented in three versions (one of which is a brief reprise) along with several pieces of instrumental music from the score: "Rock Dem Bells" is an instrumental rock & roll cut, and "Connie Francis -- Lady Valet Theme" is an orchestral piece. "Whoever You Are I Love You" is presented in instrumental and vocal versions. That doesn't leave very much room for Francis, but she shines on "Let's Have a Party," an energetic rocker, as well as the cute "When the Clock Strikes Midnight." "Looking for Love" was a modest Top 40 hit in Cash Box, and the album charted, too, but almost certainly as a result of the film's popularity rather than the album's overall quality. Fans of the film will appreciate the music here, and serious fans of Francis' will enjoy the handful of exclusive vocal cuts, but in light of its repetitiveness and Francis' non-participation on several tracks, Looking for Love is too slight to recommend. ~ Greg Adams, Rovi
