    All Music Guide Review

Cruizin' to Motown, Vol. 2, like the first volume in the budget-line series, doesn't concentrate on any one period of Motown's output, skipping around between the classic '60s sound, the more funk-oriented early-'70s style, and even a few later tracks, as well as including some relative obscurities from well-known artists in place of bigger hits. Still, any listener who simply wants these particular songs in one place, without having to buy bigger retrospectives or artist best-ofs, will be well served. The more popular songs present include material from the Four Tops ("Reach Out (I'll Be There)," "Ain't No Woman like the One I Got"), Smokey Robinson and the Miracles "You Really Got a Hold on Me," "Ooh Baby Baby"), the Temptations ("Papa Was a Rolling Stone," "Ain't Too Proud to Beg," "Just My Imagination"), the Jackson 5 ("I'll Be There"), and the Commodores ("Lady," "Easy"). ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide
