Lyrics from Doot-Doot
All Music Guide Review
Freur's debut album was an ambitious but uneven experiment in early techno, a set of synthesized beats and keyboard riffs. Occasionally, as on the title track, there was enough quirky humor and hooks to make it an enjoyable exercise in dance-floor grooves, but the record just as often meandered around in an attempt to find the appropriate sonic textures. Since Freur eventually evolved into Underworld, Doot-Doot is an interesting piece of history, but judged as music, it pretty much stands as a fitfully entertaining artifact of its time. [Oglio's reissue contains a handful of singles and 12-inch mixes as bonus tracks.] ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
