    All Music Guide Review

The Celebrity Deathmatch album translates MTV's popular and innovative claymation throwdown into music. Unfortunately, none of the artists wrestle each other or do any tag-team-style collaborations -- which would have fit the show's wicked sense of humor perfectly -- but the album does deliver plenty of aggro rock and rap.

Longtime Celebrity Deathmatch champ Marilyn Manson begins the collection with "Astonishing Panorama Of The Endtimes" while Powerman 5000's "Standing 8" and Rob Zombie's remix of "Meet the Creeper" also provide amped-up, menacing sounds. Eminem's "My Fault (Pizza Mix)," Primus' "The Heckler" and Kool Keith's "Bow To The Masta" approximate the show's blend of cartoonish violence and humor, and Bif Naked's "Vampire" stands out as the lone female track in a compilation awash with testosterone. Though it's not as entertaining as its namesake, Celebrity Deathmatch will definitely please fans of pile-driving, body-slamming music. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
