Urban Grooves launches a new various-artists series designed to gather a wealth of smooth urban soul hits (as of 1999) in one place. Some are more pop-inflected, some more indebted to hip-hop, but nearly all were at least fairly successful on the charts and with radio programmers (excluding a few tracks by artists still up-and-coming). Selections include Blackstreet's "No Diggity," 702's "Where My Girls At," Boyz II Men's "Four Seasons of Loneliness," K-Ci & JoJo's "All My Life," Erykah Badu's "On and On," Montell Jordan's "Let's Ride," Dru Hill's "These Are the Times," Mya's "My First Night With You," and Brian McKnight's "The Only One for Me," among others. ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide
