    All Music Guide Review

    Contrary to its title, I Love Metal is not a heavy metal album. Rather, it's a selection of emocore and punk/ska revivalists covering generally well-known metal tunes in their own respective styles. The results are variable, of course -- depending on both the quality of the song covered and the band's level of commitment -- but there are actually quite a few engagingly fun moments. Some of the bands and songs included are Less Than Jake with Twisted Sister's "We're Not Gonna Take It," Mephiskapheles with Celtic Frost's "Necromantical Screams," the Get Up Kids doing Mötley Crüe's "On With the Show," Avail doing Motörhead's "Iron Fist," and Hot Rod Circuit on AC/DC's "Sin City." ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide
