This CD, featuring Dizzy Gillespie playing on the soundtrack of The Winter in Lisbon (a film never properly distributed), is only of minor interest. He wrote the nine themes and Slide Hampton put together the arrangements, but, as with most soundtracks, the music sounds incomplete without the picture. Also, Gillespie's playing at this late date in his life was quite erratic. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
