Christina Aguilera's Genie Gets Her Wish mixes her teen pop hits with behind-the-scenes conversations and fan interviews. The result is a mix of her somewhat prefabricated pop sound surrounded by even more calculated, faux-casual dialogue. However, Aguilera's undeniable vocal gifts shine through on "So Emotional," "I Turn to You," a surprising cover of Etta James' "At Last," and, of course, her signature song "Genie in a Bottle." Aside from a photo gallery, Genie Gets Her Wish doesn't take much advantage of DVD's interactivity, but the video itself does offer a fascinating -- if partial -- glimpse at one of teen pop's biggest stars. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
