Gettysburg was an ambitious epic detailing one of the most famous battles in the American Civil War. Appropriately, the soundtrack is grand, dramatic, and stirring. In fact, the incidental music works better as an individual entity than most soundtracks and is arguably more compelling than portions of the overly long movie. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
