Stephanie Haynes not only possesses a beautiful voice but has the ability to always find the right note, which is fortunate, for pianist Dave MacKay really pushes her on their duet recording, sometimes only barely hinting at the more conventional chords to the standards. The results are full of chance taking with the hair-raising accompaniment inspiring Haynes to really stretch herself. The interplay between voice and piano on "Easy to Love" and the witty "Everything But You" are high points on this very satisfying and sometimes unpredictable set. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
