Like previous Sluts material, Carrera steers clear of the freakbeat electro territory explored by the pair's Showroom Recordings Series and remixes for Lamb and A Forest Mighty Black, settling instead into spacy electronic trip-hop with heaps of funk and jazz references. Although Carrera would have made a solid 12-inch, the presence of a few weak tracks and a pair of ponderous disco numbers reduce the album's overall effectiveness. ~ Sean Cooper, All Music Guide
