    All Music Guide Review

When it came to precision jazz singing, the Boswells were the first and the best, influencing the Andrews Sisters and others with their impeccable harmonies and fluid timing. This second volume kicks off with one side of their first record, cut in 1925, and follows the thread five years later with sides featuring backing by Jackie Taylor's Orchestra, Victor Young and the Brunswick Studio Orchestra, the Dorsey Brothers Orchestra, Red Nichols, and Don Redman and his Orchestra, as well as a four-song date featuring just the girls with Martha accompanying them on piano. Most interesting are the medleys that blend the sisters' style with folks like Bing Crosby and the Mills Brothers. Some of the best female jazz singing ever committed to tape. ~ Cub Koda, All Music Guide
