    All Music Guide Review

...This anthology of redone "classics" of pot proselytizing seems a bit quaint, if not totally useless. It also graphically illustrates how smoking pot dulls one's critical faculties. Not all marijuana songs were bad (just listen to any reefer-oriented blues comp from the '20s and '30s), but many of these moldy paeans graphically indicate our willingness to sacrifice quality...Despite the few good songs ("Illegal Smile," "Sweet Leaf," "Champagne And Reefer") there is absolutely no reason why you would want to dole out your hard-earned cash to hear also-rans like the Blue Chieftans, the Storm Orphans, and the Dickens cover these tunes. A wiser course of action would be scoring a half-bag and listening to the original John Prine, Black Sabbath, and Muddy Waters versions. ~ John Dougan, Option 49_93, All Music Guide
