Dokken

If you thought Dokken died in the 1980s along with other cheesy metal acts, you'd be wrong. This full-length concert DVD was recorded live at the Strand in Redondo Beach, CA, in the 1990s, and contains 12 songs, including "Into the Fire," "Nothing Left to Say," and "It's Not Love." One Live Night is basically Dokken unplugged. The "Backstage Pass" section includes about six minutes of behind the scenes at the show. The visual and audio quality may not please audiophile fans, but seeing the group back together will. Overall a fine release for fans who already like the band. New fans will probably prefer to start with The Very Best of Dokken. More recommended is Live From the Sun, which captures a plugged in Dokken. This 2000 re-release of a 1996 video adds little to the original version. ~ JT Griffith, All Music Guide
