For Simply Jeff's third major mix album, the veteran SoCal DJ culled tracks from a variety of big-beat, techno, trance, and hip-hop producers. What these tracks have in common is an irresistible funk attitude that's perfect for the dancefloor no matter the origin of the producer, from the chilled British drum'n'bass act E-Z Rollers, to New York's hyper techno DJ Frankie Bones, to master trance remixer Rennie Pilgrem. Though his mix isn't quite as hands-on as the volumes in his Funk-Da-Fried series, there are some great tracks here, like the great Zapp tribute "Ride the Funky" by World of Crime, "Shutdown" by Speed Freaks, Jeff's own "Break It Down," and "Hot Stop" by DJ Icey. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
