    Somewhere (Video/DVD)

    All Music Guide Review

Pet Shop Boys' Somewhere presents a documentary with Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe, as well as a 1997 performance at the Savoy Theatre in support of their acclaimed album Bilingual. While Tennant and Lowe's friendly bickering during their interviews is amusing and the performances of songs like "Yesterday When I Was Mad," "Can You Forgive Her?," "Se a Vida E," and the cover of David Bowie's "Hallo Spaceboy" show Pet Shop Boys in fine form, the disc's sound and picture quality are not markedly better than that of the VHS version. The lack of extra features will also disappoint hardcore fans expecting more from the DVD version of Somewhere, but the disc may be worthwhile for those who don't already own the videotape. Overall, Somewhere isn't as necessary or interesting as the group's Performance concert video or Videography, but it's still a decent DVD debut for Pet Shop Boys. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
